OUR STORY

How We Met

It all began the first day of Freshman Year at Pleasant Valley High School. History class would be the first subject we would share together. The introduction of our names grew into daily conversations. It was not long before we realized how well we clicked and a friendship began, growing as the months continued on. As our circle of friends evolved we all began spending more time outside of school, although we had our circle- it was observed by those friends that we were spending that time “together” and we were often teased about how we looked at each other as if we were “in love”- we would quickly reassure them that we were just friends. The end of our Freshman Year grew near and it became apparent to the both of us that we were falling in love. The last period of Freshman Year is when Jeff wrangled his courage, walked me to my class and asked me to be his girlfriend.

The Proposal

Fast forward a half a decade and a day trip to Seaside Heights, New Jersey would blossom into a clever proposal.
Upon receiving the blessings of my parents,  Jeff began the planning of proposing to me on the beach at Seaside Heights, disguised as his 21st Birthday Celebration- the perfect way to be surrounded by our parents, his siblings, my Aunt Denise, and one of our friends without raising suspicions. Everyone in attendance knew the plan but me- we celebrated his birthday at a Mexican Restaurant on the beach, took a stroll along the boardwalk after dinner enjoying the sights and sounds of summer down the shore, and paused at an entry point to the water to watch the waves. It was then that he said,
“Hey look at that plane,”
and there it was, the classic shoreline sky banner towing along behind a bi-plane- and it read,
 “Jacqueline, Will You Marry Me?”
As I turned to look at him upon reading, he was on one knee, ready to fully propose. Many tears of joy were had by our family and friends in witness as well as a host of cheers and congratulations by so many of the strangers on the beach that day.

Now here we are ready to exchange our vows and continue on in the next chapters of our lives together.

What if it rains?

We Have a Plan For That!

If there is rain, our ceremony will be held in their wood and stone covered pavilion. If there is rain, you may want to consider an umbrella for the walk from the parking area to the pavilion as well as the walk from the pavilion to the Lake View Lodge.

What is the attire?

Please Dress in Semi-Formal Attire

Additional information to help you plan for your outfits and shoes.
With the plan of a lakeside wedding, the actual location of the ceremony is professionally tiered hardscape to the water and paved paths to and from the parking area and the Lake View Lodge but we want you to be aware that it is sloping, a gradual grade from each spot to another. Some of this also applies if our ceremony ends up in the wood and stone pavilion if inclement weather interupts us.
We love our mountains! We are hoping and planning for the best weather possible to be able to enjoy our magical day along side the water we so very much love. But sometimes in our higher altitudes we struggle with earlier spring weather. We could still be a tad chilly or we could be warm and sunny, or even sometimes we have seen it hot, hot, hot!
The average temps for May in Stroudsburg are posted Low 51 degrees to High 71 Degrees. Please watch our forecasted weather nearing the day as our ceremony is scheduled outdoors and hopefully lakeside, even in the event of rain their pavilion is not indoor- it is covered.
Welcome to the Mountains!

Are Children Invited?

Adults Only

While we love to see children laugh and play,
Our wedding is an adult only kind of day.

Where is the ceremony and reception?

Both the ceremony and reception will be held at the same location:
Trout Lake, 1100 Twin Lake Road, Stroudsburg, Pa 18360.
The ceremony will be held lakeside on the shore line of Trout Lake and cocktail hour as well as reception will be held in the
Lake View Lodge at Trout Lake.

What is the parking situation?

There is ample parking available on location at Trout Lake. There is a main parking lot as well as a secondary lot providing adequate space for guests.

Navigating the venue Trout Lake

Although Trout Lake is modern, it retains its beautiful natural atmosphere, there are sloping hills and a small amount of walking from parking lot to the ceremony site as well as from ceremony site to the Lake View Lodge where cocktail hour and reception will occur. If navigating the walk to and from these areas will be burdensome for you, the venue has a cart service. Please communicate this request with us ahead of time so we may notify and help them in making sure the service is available to you.

What towns should I consider as I prepare for my stay?

Towns that are close to Trout Lake when searching for Accommodations, Places to Eat, and Things to Do in preparation for your stay in the Pocono Mountains.

The Pocono Mountains encompasses a very large territory, some advertisements that boast Pocono Mountains could be 45 Minutes to an hour or more from Trout Lake. When searching for hotels, Air BnB style accommodations, Places to Eat, or Things to Do- try starting with Tannersville, Bartonsville, Swiftwater, as well as Stroudsburg- we are a tourist destination and have hotels with very easy routes leading to Trout Lake. When in doubt, just text Marlo.

What if I am scheduling transportation?

If you are planning for an Uber.

We will be wrapping up the night around 10pm.
If you will be celebrating by tipping back your glass, consider scheduling an Uber. Our Uber transportation is not as plentiful as a metropolitan area. Scheduling ahead is recommended.
Please be advised that many of our roads are not artificially lit by street lamps- often they are off the beaten path mountain roads, sometimes narrow and winding, depending on your destination.
Please take into consideration for your after celebration travels.

Information on Getting to Trout Lake

Very Centrally Located

Trout Lake is very centrally located to some of the main tourist spots in The Pocono Mountains. We have been made feel very confident by the venue that internet and phone directions as well as most mobile navigation systems will find your arrival stress free. Most directions will be bringing you in through main highways and roads such as Route 80, Route 611, and/or Route 715. With that said you will encounter some final roads that lead through some residential areas- almost no need to be alarmed- even though Trout Lake is in the heart of a lot- it is still quite secluded.

Wedding Shower

For many years, Dan and Marlo hosted Jackie's Birthday Celebrations at home, utilizing their creativity and skills to meet Jackie's imagination. They would build unique and often zanny and quirky props and decorations to set a stage for the kids to enjoy. Madagascar, Enchantment Under the Sea, Back Stage with Hannah Montana, and Alice in Wonderland are some fondly remembered favorites.
When Jackie and Jeff requested a Wedding Shower that included everyone- the ladies and dudes alike- it was swiftly decided to hold their Wedding Shower at home and to design and create an atmosphere that would celebrate the beginning of this next journey together.
Spring of 2024 began the curating and creation of their Vintage Spring Garden themed Wedding Shower to welcome in this next new chapter in bloom. We hope that you will join us and enjoy the day of fun, food, laughter, food, some games, food, the creation of memories, and did we say food?
Oh and some cocktails too!

While traditional Bridal Showers have been often a ladies engagement- it is warmly know that The Ambrosio's are "Unconventional Conventionalists", everyone is invited.
The Ambrosio's are also often known as "The Closer's" so the end time of 5:30pm is a very loose estimation of when the party is over.
We won't be chasing you out the door..... at least this time of the year anyway!
